In a poster exhibit honoring Paul Laurence Dunbar, I created a typographic poster centered around a letter written by the poet. Inspired by Dunbar’s struggles with tuberculosis and alcoholism, my poster delves into themes of anxiety, shame, and forgiveness. Utilizing images  from Dunbar’s home, I used silkscreening to create imperfect and human images. The typographic details highlight the complexities of Dunbar’s inner thoughts. Despite the exploration of darker themes, the poster also celebrates Dunbar’s resilience and legacy.
